Macanlalay (Mah·Can·Luh·Lie)

Don Macanlalay is, at his core, a film kid who figured out how to get paid for it and has spent 12 years trying to act like that's not the greatest thing that's ever happened to him.

He's built brand campaigns, story frameworks, and the occasional experiential moment people actually remember — for Amazon, Fox, Tubi, Oscar-winning films, and yes, a TV show or two he's not embarrassed about. He now leads social creative and strategy for Sports at Amazon Web Services, where the NFL, NBA, and F1 are doing their best to compete with his movie obsession. It's close.

Then there's The Film Zone. What started as a friend's film Instagram is now a full creative agency with real studio partners, festival relationships — including some he helped produce on the ground — and filmmakers who actually call back. Don helped build that. He'll mention it casually but he means it every time.

From Oxon Hill, Maryland. Still tells people that.

P.S. He's from Maryland, which means he has strong feelings about crabs and the third act of every movie. Not necessarily in that order.

His debut feature screenplay I Know the End has been recognized by Raindance Film Festival, the Beverly Hills Film Festival, and landed on the Coverfly Red List. It’s a story close to his heart, and like most of his work, grounded in emotional truths, memory, and just a little magic.
